New York photographer, Liz Rubincam, is a dedicated documentarian whose interest in social causes has taken her to many corners of the world. Since graduating from Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada with a BFA in Photography Studies, she has spent her efforts developing a personal style and approach to her image making practice. Striving to understand the complexity of her subjects, she often spends extended periods of time immersing herself within a particular group of people or environment. Most notably, she spent 5 years documenting the work of treeplanters in Northern Canada after she herself had learned the job as a young University student.
Liz’s photography has been exhibited throughout Canada and can be found in numerous private collections. Currently, Liz is studying Photojournlism and Photo Documentary at the International Center of Photography in New York City. She will graduate in June 2007.
