Liz came to photography through a Fine Arts degree from Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada and, more recently, the Photojournalism and Photo Documentary program at the International Center of Photography in New York City.  While at ICP, she received a Director’s Scholarship and interned with James Nachtwey.

The series Day One, documenting childbirth in New York City, has received numerous praises including an Honorable Mention in the 2007 Ian Parry Scholarship.  In 2008, she was selected to participate in the Eddie Adams Workshop XXI.

Liz’s photographs have been published in The New York Times, The British Journal of Photography, The Sunday Times Magazine and The Magenta Foundation’s Flash Forward 2008 book.  She is a contributing photographer to Getty Images.  Her work has been exhibited in New York, London and throughout Canada.

Her projects have taken her to many corners of the world, most recently to South Africa to document the lives of female truck drivers.

Liz is currently based in New York City.
